Food and trade – developing improved post production food management systems, enterprise and marketing to overcome constraints to agricultural growth and poverty reduction.

Change and vulnerability – understanding and responding to major challenges such as climate change, globalization, conflict, emergent diseases and migratory pests, to facilitate adaptation and lessen impacts on the livelihoods and health of poor people.	Capacity strengthening – carefully targeting interventions to strengthen the capacity of people, organisations and institutions to make more effective contribution to the development process.
